अच्युतकृष्ण खरेल फुटबल खेल्न पाइन्छ भनेर प्रहरीमा भर्ती भए। फुटबलमा राष्ट्रिय टोलीका कप्तान बने । प्रहरी फोर्समा महानिरीक्षक। उनले फुटबल खेलेर प्रशंसक कमाए । प्रहरी फोर्समा रहेर दुस्मनी मोले । गुन्डा र तस्करहरूसँग भिडे । डाँका पक्रन सीमापार गए। तस्करको बचाउ गर्ने राजनीतिक नेताहरूसँग पटक-पटक झुत्ती खेले । उनको जीवनको आरोह-अवरोह फोर्सको आँखाबाट देशको राजनीतिक घटनाक्रम नियाल्ने आँखीझ्याल हो। उनले तत्कालीन दरबार र पञ्चहरूको दबदबा देखे । २०४६ को जनआन्दोलन दबाउन मुख्य भूमिका खेलेको आरोप खेपे। प्रजातन्त्र पुनःस्थापनापछि प्रहरी सङ्गठनभित्र हाबी राजनीतीकरण आफ्नै आइजिपी नियुक्तिमा बेहोरे। माओवादी द्वन्द्व उत्कर्षमा पुगेका बेला प्रहरी सङ्गठनको नेतृत्व सम्हालेका उनले दल, दरबार र सेनाबीच सकसपूर्ण अन्तरसम्बन्धको साक्षी बन्दै दुनै हमलापछि राजीनामा दिए। यो जीवनीले एक प्रहरी अधिकृतको चौबीसघन्टे रापिलो यात्रा अनुभूति गराउँछ ।
